A HEALTH REFORM MESSAGE
The message that has been given to us as Seventh Day Adventist to be preached to a dying world is the Three Angels' Messages of Revelation 14:6-12, and it states: -
"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Operating side by side within these messages is the Health Reform message that is considered to be its right hand. I quote:-
"When properly conducted, the health work is an entering wedge, making a way for other truths to reach the heart. When the Third Angel's message is received in its fullness, health reform will be given its place in the councils of the conference, in the work of the church, in the home, at the table, and in all the household arrangements. Then the right arm will serve and protect the body." CD 73.2
"A Balanced Program - You feel a deep interest in the circulation of the health publications, and this is right; but that special branch is not to be made all -absorbing. The health reform is as closely related to the third angel's message as the arm to the body; but the arm cannot take the place of the body. The proclamation of the third angel's message, the commandments of God, and the testimony of Jesus is the great burden of our work. The message is to be proclaimed with a loud cry, and it to go to the whole world. The presentation of health principles must be united with this message, but must not in any case be independent of it, or in any way take the place of it." Letter 57, 1896. CW 139.1
